When it comes to travelling, there is a lot of excitement behind it. However, behind every exciting trip, you’re going to find all the stress that comes with planning that trip. You’re going to want to make sure that everything goes just right. This is even more apparent if your little ones, especially toddler-age, is joining you. Since forgetting anything can really put a damper on a trip, here is everything that you need to know about packing items for your toddler for your next trip!
1. Make sure to pack plenty of snacks and drinks
It’s considered more challenging for a toddler to have only three meals a day. They like to eat on their terms. Plus, if they get hungry, you can count on them being hangry. Nobody wants to deal with that, especially when it comes to a trip. So, one of the best things you can do instead would be to have plenty of snacks and drinks for them. Ideally, it’s going to be food that they enjoy, so it’s easier for them to eat.
2. Pack some toys and games
Whether it’s a cruise, road trip, or even a flight, you’re going to want to make sure that you have something to keep your little toddler entertained. So, don’t forget to pack their toys. If they like to play on tablets, then make sure that there are games that can be played offline (in case of no wifi). The same goes for shows; make sure that these are downloaded just in case there isn’t any wifi available.
3. Pack your own diaper bag
It takes a while to potty train a toddler, so it’s best to go ahead and pack some diapers in your diaper bag. It’s hard to say if it’s easy finding toilets when you’re travelling. Plus, children have weak bladders too. So it’s best to just add a diaper bag just to ensure that no accidents occur. Speaking of accidents…
4. Bring a change of clothes in case of accidents
From baby girl rompers to play shoes, you’re going to need to make sure that your little one’s suitcase has plenty of clothes in it. When it comes to children, they’re messy as it is. So you can already count on needing to change your child. But there may be a chance that you’re going to have to have some additional clothes in case some accidents happen during your day out.
5. Pack light and pack only what your child needs
One rule that so many travellers break would be over-packing; that’s something that is a complete fact. However, it’s essentially increased whenever a child is involved. Sure, it’s entirely understandable as children do have a lot of needs. Even flying with your toddler for the first time is going to require some needed things. But you don’t have to bring too much for your child. Just make sure to bring the necessities, something that you know they’re going to need every single day.
