Tidying Up Your Family Garden for Summer

Posted on July 9, 2024July 9, 2024 by Lyndsey OHalloran

When you can feel the warmth of the sun on your face and you’re surrounded by the people you love it’s an unbeatable feeling. Spending time in the garden with your family is your happy place, so it’s important to keep your outdoor space in good condition. Whether you want to make your garden more exciting for your guests, or you’re planning to host a family barbecue, there are so many worthwhile reasons to give your garden a little extra tender loving care this summer!

Clear Away Leaves and Debris

The very first thing you need to do is clear away any excess leaves and debris that may be cluttering up your garden space. This is the perfect start to help you begin with a blank canvas so that you can start tidying up your outdoor area. If you need a little extra helping hand, you may want to try out a battery leaf blower to help you blow away any stubborn leaves that may be taking over your lawn or patio. Once this job has been done, you’ll be ready to get started with the other tasks at hand.

Clean Up Weeds

Pulling up any pesky weeds that have popped up over the last couple of months is the only way to ensure that your garden stays super neat and tidy. Using a pair of gardening gloves you can easily pull the weeds out from the roots so that your garden is free from unwanted weeds altogether.

Trim Your Hedges

This is particularly important if you have hedges out the front of your home. Trimming the bushes and hedges around your property not only creates an aesthetically pleasing look all round, but it will also make other possibilities in the garden easier. In the backyard, overgrown hedges and bushes can get in the way of doing other wonderful things such as creating flower beds and growing your own herbs.

Tidy Up Your Plant Pots

If you haven’t watered or fed your plants in a while, this is your sign to do it and take pride in your beautiful blooms. Whether you plant fresh flowers or you try to upkeep the ones you already have, it’s always good to focus some of your time on tidying up your plant pots.

Keep Your Lawn Green

Working on your lawn is something you should be trying to do all year round. Unfortunately, it’s very difficult to transform it into a luscious and bright space overnight; it takes time and dedication to do it. When it comes to keeping your lawn in top condition, you need to follow specific protocols to keep it looking gloriously green. Watering it regularly and applying lawn seed on a regular basis will help you to maintain and tidy up this aspect of your garden.

Hopefully, with these ideas in mind you can transform your garden into a stunningly beautiful place to be this summer. Whether you’re clearing away excess debris or you’re tidying up your plant pots, there’s so much you can do to create a family garden that is full of joy, fun and beauty.
