When your new little one arrives, you want to make sure that they are greeted with the best possible experience. Nesting is real and it kicks in during the last trimester of pregnancy, but it is a good idea to start getting prepared before that. This will help you feel better when your baby arrives and make them more comfortable from the moment they come home with you.

You don’t want to be stressed about what needs to be done when your child is born, so here are ways you can prepare for them before they come home!

Set Up The Nursery

Set up a nursery with all of the essentials. This includes a crib, bassinet, changing table, and dresser. Foryourlittleone have a selection of nursery furniture to set up your nursery. Make sure that the room is clean and comfortable, with plenty of space for you to move around and not trip over things during a midnight feed!

Make Your Life A Little Easier

The first few weeks or even months can be hard with all those night feeds so consider a Moses basket next to your bed.  Remember to set up a little portable diaper carry bag to make those night changes easier.

Make Sure Their Room Is Safe

You don’t want to worry about whether or not there are any safety issues with the room. This includes checking that all of your smoke detectors have working batteries and that you have a fire extinguisher handy in case something does happen. You also will want to make sure that all electrical outlets have been covered.

Prepare Their Clothes

Make sure you have washed all the outfits for your hospital bag and for when they come home. Pack them all away in drawers that are easy to access while you are changing and looking for the next outfit. Stock up on diapers and bum cream and make sure that is also accessible.

Self Care

Make sure that you are taking care of yourself during pregnancy by eating healthy foods and getting exercise when possible. This will help you feel your best and give you the energy that you need to get through those early days with a newborn. Try to rest and get some sleep before the baby arrives. Make sure that you are taking measures to not get sick during pregnancy.

Quality Time

A popular thing to do these days before the baby arrives is a babymoon. If this is your first baby, take a few days off and go away for a little vacation to reset. This also gives you and your partner some special time together. If it is not your first then have a little family vacation so your little ones get some quality time before their sibling arrives.

Prepare For The Troops

The family members that live far away may offer to come to stay to help out. So if you have a guest room, then getting it ready for Granny to be is a good idea. Make sure that there is plenty of room for all their things and you have a list ready of what needs to be done when they arrive. This will help your family feel like helping out without making them do everything themselves!

In conclusion, there are many ways to prepare for your baby’s arrival, but you must choose what works best for your family. This way everyone will feel comfortable and at ease when the baby comes home!
