Spare bedrooms are always a great thing to have, no matter whether your own or rent the home you live in. These rooms can be used in so many different ways so here are some ideas if you’re struggling to decide how to use your spare bedroom.:
Guest bedroom
Of course, the obvious choice for a spare bedroom is to use it as a guest bedroom. You might be someone who lives away from family or friends and this would be an ideal place for them to stay on visits. You might have children who want their friends to sleep over and a guest bedroom could easily be used for this.
Home office
If you are self-employed or currently working from home you might be looking for a quiet place to work. Transforming your spare bedroom into a home office could make a big difference to how you’re able to work at home. Depending on the size of the room, you might be able to put a desk in as well as a spare bed.
Additional bathroom
Some homes have downstairs toilets and bathrooms and this might not work so well if you are a household with children. If you don’t need a spare bedroom you might want to think about converting this room to be an additional bathroom. This would be especially useful if you have more than one spare bedroom and it could be something that adds value to your home.
Craft room
People love to craft and there are so many different types to get into. Some kinds of crafts require a lot of tools and equipment, especially if it’s something you do to make money. Turning your spare bedroom into a craft room could help to clear up space in other areas of the home and also give you somewhere to be creative, surrounded by everything you need.
Games room
Games consoles are such a big deal these days, costing hundreds of pounds and then even more for the games. What’s great though is that you can play some of these games with people in other countries but when doing so, you don’t want to take up the TV in the living room. Having a games room in a spare bedroom could be a great idea if it’s going to be used a lot.
