Life can be very busy, navigating work, school runs, after school activities and all the other commitments that come with day to day life. It can be hard to carve out the time to spend quality time with your loved ones. To enjoy a little uninterrupted family time without your phone ringing or without someone glaring at a screen or just finishing one last task. Can you remember the last time you all sat down and did something together as a family? Well with the summer holidays approaching it is the perfect opportunity to dedicate some time to enjoying each other’s company and reconnecting as a family.
Here is some inspiration for activities you can all do together that will see you bonding and connecting as a family.

A family game night
This is a great way to stay off the screens and spend some time together without it costing the earth. What is more, it is suitable for all ages, you just have to choose the appropriate games. Children absolutely love playing games and they relish the chance to play with mum and dad, so why not each select your favourite game and challenge each other to a little healthy competition. If you really want to up the ante then consider implementing prizes for the winner, or lighthearted chores for the loser.
Adventure days
Getting out in the fresh air and taking part in some challenging family-friendly adventures is a fantastic bonding exercise, as you encourage each other and celebrate each other’s triumphs. Not to mention the limitless fun adventure days or family activity centres provide. From high ropes to water activities, to sporting events there is something for everyone and you can be guaranteed you will have fond and fun memories of your day out.
Hire a hot tub
Hot tub hire is an excellent option when you don’t have the means, space or inclination to own your own hot tub. Neither do you have the onerous task of maintaining it. Hot tubs force everyone to put their phones away, tablets down and spend some quality time with each other, all in a relaxing and fun environment. You can make the night extra special by cooking and enjoying a family’s favourite meal together and then retiring to the tub.
Have a sleepover
This one works best for families with younger children, but it is guaranteed to create a special night for those littlest members. Young children love the opportunity to have a sleepover with siblings and parents, it is exciting and a break from the norm. To really make the sleepover special why not put up a tent in the garden or living room and all bunker down together somewhere different. Oh and don’t forget the ‘midnight snacks’, your children will love them. You may not get the best night’s sleep but it will be a night your children will not forget.
