Keeping your home tidy is always challenging, but there can be certain parts of your home that can be especially hard to keep in order. Areas like your entranceway or hallway, spaces where things get hidden away like cupboards, or anywhere that becomes a dumping ground for stuff can cause issues. If you feel like there are some spaces that are never tidy, no matter what you do, you might need some smart ways to start neatening them up and keeping them in order. With a few clever hacks, you could make it a lot easier to stay on top of everything.
Choose Storage That Makes Sense
First of all, it’s important to have storage in key areas where it makes sense to have it. If you’re constantly tripping over shoes left by the door, a shoe cabinet for your hallway could immediately solve the problem. If you don’t have space for a cabinet, consider a hanging shoe organiser instead. There are lots of storage options that are specially designed for specific purposes or certain rooms in your home. Even just thinking about size can help you out. Get storage that’s right for the space you have available and what you need to store.

Put Organisers Inside Storage
Sometimes the storage you have doesn’t quite work out. It hides things away, but you have to go digging through it if you want to get something out of it. Fortunately, there are organisers you can put inside cupboards and drawers, or store on shelves, to make them neater. Take the simple example of spices in your kitchen cupboard. Get a lazy susan spice rack that will fit inside your cupboard so you can spin it around and find what you’re looking for whenever you need it. There are lots of similar solutions that could help you out.
Use Vertical Space
Making use of vertical space is one of the best ways you can make any space neater. If you don’t have a lot of floor space, it makes it easier to keep things tidy, especially in narrow spaces like hallways. You can use sticky adhesive Velcro strips to stick anything to the walls, and you’ll be able to remove them when you need to. Hang up hooks or other organisers that will give you more space to keep clutter under control. You can even use the ceiling to expand your available storage too.
Store Things Away for Later
Some spaces in your home can get cluttered with things you’re not even currently using. There’s no need for everyone’s winter coats to be hanging up if no one is wearing them at the moment. If you want to free up space, it makes sense to find somewhere else to put things that aren’t currently in use. Whether that’s in your loft, under the bed, or in a storage unit somewhere, it can get you some of your space back.
Whichever areas cause problems in your home, you can tidy them up with the right tricks.
