When it comes to changing up rooms in your house the bathroom is one that people think has to cost a lot of money. Of course, there are big things to think about like boilers, baths and showers but you can do a bathroom makeover on a budget, without replacing any of these things.
Change your tiles without replacing them
Retiling a bathroom can cost a lot of money, especially if you have a large bathroom. You might not be lucky enough to have a wonderful looking bathroom and instead, you might have something from back in the 70s or 80s. I think we’ve all seen those tiles with the brownish coloured flowers on them. Instead of replacing these tiles you could really give your bathroom a makeover by using tile paint to either cover up a pattern or to change the colour of the tiles.
Add some colour
If you can’t change any of the big things there are plenty of ways to change your bathroom easily and that’s by using colour. I think we all like to have things like matching towels and bathmat etc. and this is a really fun and easy way to add colour to your bathroom. Maybe you have a bathroom that’s mostly white. You could always have different sets of towels so the colour in your bathroom changes every time you do laundry.
Paint furniture
You might have big pieces of furniture in your bathroom and chances are, they have been the same for years. Chalk paint is hugely popular right now and it allows you to repaint nearly anything in a huge range of colours. Not only can you try a new colour but it will also make your bathroom look fresher and cleaner.
Invest in good storage
Good storage can really make a difference to your bathroom so it’s worth spending some time thinking about what you want and how it could work for you. Shelves can be used for practical reasons, of course, but there’s no need for them to look boring. Buy funky and fun looking storage like jars and boxes to keep items such as cotton wool or beauty products and add some cool plants to brighten up the room. Not only will your new storage look lovely but it can help your bathroom to look a lot fresher and cleaner.
Have you had a bathroom makeover recently? What did you do and was it on a budget?
