5 Ways to Clean Up Your Home for the New Year

The new year is quickly approaching, but that doesn’t mean you can’t get ready for it! Cleaning up your home around the house might seem like a daunting task, but it will be worth it once you’re able to spend time with friends and family without worrying about cleaning. Here are five ways to clean up your home so that you’ll feel refreshed when 2022 starts.

1) Clean your kitchen

The kitchen is usually one of the dirtiest areas in the house, so it’s important to give it some attention. Start by cleaning the counters and appliances. Then, scrub down the sink and cabinets. Finally, sweep and mop the floor. If you’re short on time, you can use a quick-cleaning method like the One-Minute Rule. This rule states that if a task takes less than one minute to complete, then you should just do it immediately instead of putting it off.

2) Clean your bathroom

The bathroom is another area of the house that often gets dirty. Start by cleaning the sink, counter, and toilet. Then, scrub the tub and shower. Finally, sweep and mop the floor. Again, if you’re short on time, you can use a quick-cleaning method like the 20-Minute rule. This rule states that if a task takes less than 20 minutes to complete, then you should just do it immediately instead of putting it off.

3) Clean your bedroom

The bedroom is often the place where we relax and de-stress, so it’s important to keep it clean. Start by making the bed and changing the sheets. Then, vacuum and sweep the floor. Finally, dust and wipe down all of the surfaces. If you have time, you can also declutter your bedroom. This means getting rid of any unnecessary items that are taking up space. If you don’t use something regularly or if it doesn’t bring you joy, then get rid of it!

4) Clean Gutters and Downspouts

You don’t want to spend your new year cleaning up water damage, so you’ll need to clean the gutters and downspouts around your home. Start by removing leaves and other debris from them. Then, hose off any remaining dirt or grime. Finally, dry out the gutter with a towel before putting everything back together again. You can also hire a professional to clean your gutters. 5) Clean the exterior of your house

Cleaning the outside of your home can be a big job, but it’s worth doing for both safety and curb appeal purposes. Start by removing any leaves from around the foundation. Then, hose off dirt or grime before scrubbing away anything that is hard to remove with a brush or towel. Finally, use a ladder to reach high areas like siding and window sills so you can spray them down as well. If you have time, also power washes the house. This will make sure all of those nooks and crannies are clean!

In conclusion,  there are many ways to clean up your home before the new year. These tips will help you get started, but don’t forget to tailor them to fit your specific needs.
